Welcome to WPAW Radio! A radio show created by the Broadcast club, a group of fourth and fifth grade students at Pleasant Union. The focus of WPAW Radio is to inform parents and students of upcoming events and to highlight student work and accomplishments in the classroom. 2009-2010 Episodes

Newscast 13 (mp3) - written and produced by Rachel and John. Fifth grade rocks, according to our current fifth graders at PUE. In this podcast, Rachel and John interview 4 students that wrote and recorded their own lyrical poems. These 4 students were chosen by their peers as having the "best poem in the class".

Newscast 14 (mp3) - written and produced by Lydia and Zachary with a special interview by Daniel and Sean. In this podcast, we learn about the NC General Assembly. Daniel and Sean interview Senator Hunt after he visited the 3rd grade classes.

Justin has an interview with British author Rob Scotton whose newest book "Splat the Cat" is getting rave reviews from K-2 students at Pleasant Union. We also have an interview with Claire Witt, a fifth grader here at PUE. Claire's mother has PLS. Claire dicusses "The Magnificient Mile Race" an inspiration from her mother. The race raises money for research of PLS and ALS.

Newscast 12 (mp3) - Written and produced by Aron. What an exciting newscast! Aron interviewed Scott Walker, from the Carolina Hurricanes and Coach Ed McLean, who will be retiring at the end of June. Both interviews focused on team work, perserverence and having fun when it comes to playing sports and working on a team. We would like to thank Scott Walker and Coach for the awesome interviews!
